Study on the use of Single Use Plastic, Packaging and Waste Management in the tourism sector and municipalities with a focus on the destination sites Trang and Koh Tao in Thailand

The study provided the tourism-sector baseline assessment: analysing single-use plastic consumption, interviewing tourism operators, facilitating stakeholder roundtables and workshops, modelling tourism-related plastic waste flows, and developing scenarios, recommendations and a Plastic Waste Monitoring Tool for tourism businesses. Results include quantified SUP baselines, practical measures for hotels, restaurants, tour and diving operators, implementation steps for refill and reuse systems, staff training, stakeholder cooperation and monitoring.
